‌DEFINITION OF RESURRECTION

‌A dictionary defines “resurrection” as “the state of one risen from the dead.” In Christian faith, “resurrection” signifies “the eternal life gained after completely restoring life the way Jesus Christ has done.”

DIFFERENT TYPES OF RESURRECTION

① STRICKEN WITH DISEASE DUE TO SIN

‌The Resurrection of the Christ bears out the resurrection of the dead and affirms the fact that the believers will partake in the resurrection of their own. A cause always gives birth to an outcome; the Resurrection of the Christ is the cause and the resurrection of the believers is the outcome.  When the Christ resurrected, all the parts and organs in His body were made anew. Therefore, all believers who believe in Him will partake in His Resurrection. The Resurrection of the Christ will bring out the dead from their graves and restore the dead bodies into new life.

 ② RESURRECTION OF THE SPIRIT

‌When man was first created in God’s image, he was a spiritual being with perfect spirit, soul, and flesh who could communicate with God. As the first man created Adam sinned against God by disobeying His Word, the master of man ? his spirit ? died and the communication from God was severed. God was compassionate towards mankind on their path to destruction and sent His Only Begotten Son into this world. God gives the Holy Spirit to all those who accept the resurrected Jesus as their Savior, and “the resurrection of the spirit” takes place as God allows the dead spirits to be revived by the Holy Spirit.

③ ‌RESURRECTION OF THE DEAD BELIEVERS

‌The resurrection of the dead believers takes place at the coming of the Christ. At that moment, all dead believers since the time of the creation will resurrect, and the Bible is clear on this as follows: “For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of [the] archangel, and with the trumpet of God; and the dead in Christ shall rise first” (1 Thessalonians 4:16).

④ ‌RESURRECTION OF THE DEAD WITHOUT SALVATION

‌The dead who had not received salvation during their lifetime will resurrect last. The time of their resurrection is at the end of the Millennium and is for the purpose of the Judgment. “The dead without salvation” here refers to all those who had not believed in God and Jesus Christ during the time between the creation and the time of Jesus’ coming. They are not yet in hell, the place for their final punishment, but are waiting for the Judgment in Hades. The resurrection of all those without salvation takes place last for the Judgment. They are unable to partake in the first resurrection but, for the Last Judgment, are born again in flesh and will receive eternal punishment in their flesh.

‌THE TIME OF RESURRECTION

‌The Bible prophesies that the first resurrection will take place at the time of Jesus’ coming in the air and at the time of His Advent on the earth. A number of verses in the Bible, including 1 Thessalonians 4:16, 1 Corinthians 15:23, and Revelation 20:4-6 are clear on this. The Bible is also lucid about the second resurrection that is to take place after the Millennium. Differentiating of the times of resurrections is the same as the most accurate interpretation of the Bible.
